So now that I've finished the game, I really want to give some other squad-based games a try, since it was a gameplay genre that I had kind of written off previously. It made for a lot of really neat encounters where I had to trust my squad and not just my own skills.

And I could still give them tactical commands, whether to keep fighting or to prioritize healing me up. Another thing I enjoyed was the fact that when I was downed in combat, I didn't just get a game over screen, but my squad kept fighting. I loved that I could assign them to any task that I could reasonably do, and most encounters revolved around me deciding which role I wanted to fill on the team instead of just being the lone hero. It was so satisfying plan out battles and watch my squadmates follow orders. I've had a few bad experiences with squad-based gameplay in the past (probably due to the fact that in those games, the squad control was likely implemented as an afterthought or bonus feature instead of the main attraction), so I was initially turned off when I found out I'd be controlling a squad for the duration of the game.Д«ut that quickly changed when I got my team into action. I didn't know much about the gameplay besides the fact that it was a shooter. Since I picked it up in a Star Wars bundle a while back, I decided to give it a go.
